왜 ‘분위기 좋은 데이트’로 적합한가
전시장은 어두운 영상 공간과 빛을 머금은 인터랙티브 설치가 번갈아 배치되어, 일반적인 흰 갤러리와는 다른 시네마틱한 무드를 갖습니다. 강이연 〈Vanishing 2.0〉(3분 30초)·〈Technosphere〉(2분 7초), 서민혁 〈Post-Vanishing〉(2분 5초) — 단채널 영상 세 작품은 큰 화면을 정면으로 마주 보는 미디어월 형태로 상영되며, 두 사람이 같은 호흡으로 한 컷을 끝까지 함께 보게 됩니다. 영화관과는 결이 다른 — 컷 단위가 짧고 사운드와 시간 감각이 더 시(詩)적인 — 영상 경험입니다.
황인태 〈Vessel〉은 맥박 센서에 손을 올리면 두 사람의 심박이 서울 1년치 이동 데이터로 만든 도시 박동과 함께 공명합니다. 둘의 손가락이 같은 센서 위에 놓이는 순간, ‘도시의 흐름과 우리 둘의 박자’라는 결이 자연스럽게 만들어집니다. 같은 작가의 〈Goldilocks〉는 7가지 기상 요소를 둘이서 의논하며 ‘우리 둘의 날씨’를 만들고 서울 실시간 데이터 옆에 놓아 보는 작업으로, 짧은 시간에 함께 무언가를 만들었다는 감각이 남습니다.
서민혁 〈City'scape + Tied · 떨어지지 않는 풍경〉은 ‘문’이라는 물리적 장치 너머의 풍경을 함께 들여다보는 사적인 순간을 설계한 인터랙티브 설치입니다. 어두운 골목 같은 동선의 끝에서 둘이 함께 문을 열고 닫는 행위 자체가 — 광장의 큰 영상 작업 사이에서 — 가장 사적이고 조용한 한 컷이 됩니다.
사진이 잘 나오는 코너
어두운 영상실의 큰 화면 앞에서 실루엣 사진을 찍기 좋습니다. 인물의 윤곽만 빛으로 떨어지는 시네마틱한 컷이 자연스럽게 나오기 때문에, 인스타그램용 ‘무드 사진’이나 기념일 사진을 따로 연출하지 않아도 됩니다. 〈Vessel〉의 듀얼채널 프로젝션과 맥박 센서 인터페이스는 손과 빛이 함께 잡히는 디테일 컷에 좋고, 〈Goldilocks〉의 큰 단채널 프로젝션은 ‘둘이서 만든 날씨’를 배경으로 한 컷에 어울립니다.

저녁 무드 데이트 코스 (예시)
1) 17:00 — 영등포역 4번 출구 → 타임스퀘어 지하 직결 입장 (도보 3분, 외부 노출 없음).
2) 17:10 — 지하 2층 영등포아트스퀘어 / Gate 14 / 〈Living Geometry 2026〉 입장 (마지막 입장 17:45, 운영 종료 18:00).
3) 17:10–17:50 — 어두운 영상실 → 인터랙티브 설치 → 〈City'scape + Tied〉 동선으로 약 40–60분 관람.
4) 18:10 — 같은 건물 1F 아트리움 카페 또는 식당가에서 저녁.

On the B2 level of Times Square Mall in Yeongdeungpo, KAIST XD Lab's media-art special exhibition Living Geometry 2026 unfolds across darkened rooms where four single-channel videos play wall-sized, like immersive media walls, with three interactive installations tucked between them. Free, no reservation, daily until 18:00 — a good fit for an anniversary, a 100-day, or a rainy-evening mood date in Seoul.
Why it works as a mood date
The galleries alternate between dark projection rooms and softly lit interactive pieces, giving the visit a cinematic feel that a white-cube show doesn't have. Yiyun Kang's Vanishing 2.0 (3'30) and Technosphere (2'07), with Minhyeok Seo's Post-Vanishing (2'05), play on wall-sized single-channel screens — two visitors stand in the dark and finish a shot together, in a rhythm closer to a poem than to a feature film.
Intae Hwang's Vessel asks both of you to lay a hand on a pulse sensor; two heartbeats meet a year of Seoul's mobility data and resonate with the city's beat as a single rhythm. His Goldilocks lets you negotiate seven weather parameters together and place 'your weather' alongside Seoul's live data — a small thing made together in a few minutes.
Minhyeok Seo's City'scape + Tied stages a private moment with a single physical door. At the end of an alley-like circulation between bright video walls, opening that door together becomes the quietest, most intimate cut of the visit.

The dark video rooms naturally produce silhouette shots — light reads only on a body's outline, and the resulting frames look cinematic without any setup. Vessel's dual-channel projection plus the pulse-sensor interface gives detail shots where hands and light meet; Goldilocks's large single-channel projection works as a backdrop for 'the weather we made.'

About the exhibition
Living Geometry 2026 is a media-art special exhibition curated and developed by the KAIST Experience Design Lab (XD Lab) within KAIST's Department of Industrial Design. It re-threads Yeongdeungpo's visible urban landscape, its invisible data, and the emotional strata behind them in a geometric language — recasting the city, beyond a stilled aggregate of concrete, as an organism in continual pulse. Seven works span single-channel video, interactive installation, and multi-device web art.
