This work addresses the sixth mass extinction, also known as the Holocene extinction, which has been driven by human activity. Today, at least 75% of Earth's species are at risk of disappearing, causing the destruction of ecosystems and a sharp decline in biodiversity. The collapse of other species reveals the consequences of human exploitation and warns us that a sustainable future is far from secure.

〈Vanishing〉 was first presented on the large media facade of COEX in Seoul, where it served as an urban tribute to species that have disappeared because of human action. This new work, 〈Vanishing 2.0〉, moves beyond mourning and imagines what might come after disappearance. In a surreal landscape, fossilized wings and mysterious skeletal forms recall lives that once existed but are now gone. At the same time, they invite viewers to reflect on what their absence leaves behind.
