The desire to escape the visual noise and the suffocating pressure of the city — and yet, we are bound to it. The work begins with the act of opening a door. Visitors encounter a landscape lifted away from the everyday; once the journey ends, they come back to the ordinary world.
〈City’scape + Tied〉 is a situation design artwork that uses the physical apparatus of a door to let visitors inhabit the layered emotions of urban life. The exhibition space itself is imagined as an urban space: visitors turn away from the dazzle of the large media screen and step into an alleyway. In the simple act of opening a door, they encounter a private, immersive moment held inside the ordinary fabric of the city.
