Interactive Art Exhibition Seoul — Living Geometry 2026 at YDP Artsquare

One interactive art exhibition open in Seoul this spring and summer is Living Geometry 2026 at YDP Artsquare in Yeongdeungpo. Four of its seven works are interactive: visitor input — through sensors, web, or a physical door — drives the work's output directly.

The four interactive works

Goldilocks (Intae Hwang, 2025) — Adjust seven weather parameters to compose your own weather, placed beside Seoul's live data to reveal a collective Goldilocks zone. Custom software + single-channel projection + sound.

Vessel (Intae Hwang, 2026) — Dual-channel projection + pulse sensor + custom software. A hand on the sensor synchronises your heartbeat with a year of Seoul's mobility data.

∫ (Banpo-Xism) (Jeanyoon Choi, 2026) — A multi-device web work that runs in your own browser. Scroll and clicks integrate the flat 2D plane of Banpo-Xism into a differentiable manifold.

City'scape + Tied (Minhyeok Seo, 2026) — Physical door + TV screen + interactive installation + sound. Opening the door changes what the work shows.

Why see it as an interactive art exhibition

Interactive art names work where a visitor's body or input directly drives the output. Without the input, the work is incomplete.

Living Geometry 2026 holds four such pieces side by side, each with a different input mode — sliders, pulse sensor, phone, physical door. The medium's range is visible in one room.

Curated by KAIST XD Lab. Director Yiyun Kang has held solo exhibitions at the Victoria and Albert Museum and COP28, and was a TED 2026 main-stage speaker.

About the exhibition

Living Geometry 2026 is a media-art special exhibition curated and developed by the KAIST Experience Design Lab (XD Lab) within KAIST's Department of Industrial Design. It re-threads Yeongdeungpo's visible urban landscape, its invisible data, and the emotional strata behind them in a geometric language — recasting the city, beyond a stilled aggregate of concrete, as an organism in continual pulse. Seven works span single-channel video, interactive installation, and multi-device web art.
