The Republic of Korea is a “Republic of Apartments.” Across its flat world of concrete, people are nudged into a zero-sum competition for post-consumerist values: the location and the brand of the apartment. Within these location-brand coordinates, Korean life is constantly measured, ranked, and flattened by the pursuit of a higher position. Welcome to the 21st-century version of Flatland.

〈∫〉 is a multi-device web artwork composed of AI-generated apartments, sound, text, and code. Through their own mobile phones, audiences first scroll through an Instagram-like interface, moving upward in search of higher location-brand coordinates. Yet the moment they click an advertisement, they begin to slip out of the flat plane and move toward higher dimensions.

With each interaction, fixed constants (z=c) become variables (∫dz). Audiences begin to integrate their own dimensions beyond the axes of location and brand. In response, a complex geometric structure — a differentiable manifold — folds, shifts, and comes alive through multiple concurrent interactions. Moving beyond the two-dimensional plane, viewers participate in the act of integration itself, co-generating a living geometry that gestures toward a ten-dimensional space.
